Response to Thangavelu

Dear Editor,

The comments of Mr.Thangavelu regarding Kevin's article are pathetic.  This person avoids the important comments made in this article.

The threats against dissidents are real and on going.  Not only in Canada, but all over the globe.   Why are these people hiding this real truth?  They want to protect themselves.  If you are supporting LTTE, you can challenge everyone, the ‘mafia’ will protect you.

What type of human rights are they talking about?  About Tamil human rights. Of course, no such thing exists now.  They are preaching selective human rights.  Many Tamil journalists have been killed by various groups, including by the LTTE. They are crying for the killing of journalist Nirmalarajan but they are totally silent about the killing of "Thina Murasu" editor Ramesh.  Selective human rights are the way to operate terror politics.

Everywhere, local politicians will do anything for votes.  In the United Kingdom, the Labour and Conservative politicians are equally prepared to support a separate state in Sri Lanka.  They want votes.  That’s all.

I entirely agree with Kevin, and he speaks of a phenomenon we all need to confront.  This is a challenge to the human intellectual capacity.  One voice, one radio, one TV, one leadership, one party is also the rhetoric of Nazi Party.  You can draw similarities from their actions as well.  People like Kevin should be supported.  He clearly identified how people expressed their resentments during the union meetings.  This is happening and people are beginning to voice their opposition.

Personalised insult is the reflection of corrupt mentality.

Thanks,

 Siva  UK
